Very popular on the Spanish market, the Quintero Y Hno. came into exitance in the late 1970's. A popular brand that has remained unchanged in flavor. Earthy flavors, with strong tobacco power. Strong notes of 'grassy' flavors come and go giving and edginess to the smoke.
A powerful Panetelas, rather like a shot of espresso. This is a powerful cigar, that still manages to charm with rich flavors. Easy to over smoke leaving a burnt taste. Will be a discovery for anyone who is looking for a cigar with character.
Unfortunately, mine was too tight to smoke properly. The cigar itself has the usual earthy and straightforward Quintero character, but the draw made this one disappointing. Cuban cigars from 2026 seem to be getting more difficult in terms of consistency.
Panatelas can be tricky, they often have draw & burn problems even though many can be relatively expensive. The Quintero avoids these flaws beautifully. They smoke smooth, even, & slowly without overheating or becoming harsh. It is amazing that at a very low price they can produce a cigar that is better than most panatelas in every respect. I love 'em!
