Habanos S.A. is the company (created in 1994), owned by of Cubatabaco, the Cuban State tobacco company, and Altadis, a Spanish company that resulted from the fusion between Tabacalera and SEITA, who are responsible for the production and commercialization of all Cuban tobacco and taco products (Cigars; hand made and machine rolled, cigarettes and all other tobacco products) world wide. Habanos S.A.  is present on the five continents and is now implanted in more than 120 countries, with 97 'Casa del Habano' world wide. The Habano denomination of origin may be applied to all cigars that are produced from 100% Cuban tobacco. Although in the past Cuban cigars have suffered periods of problematic construction (end of the 1990's), in recent years Habanos S.A. have introduced a large number of quality control checks, both during the tobacco production and curing process, as well as during all stages of manufacturing in the factories. Strict procedures are applied to the selection of the appropriate leaves, quality control, draw, consistency in flavor of each of the brand names and, finally, the quality of the cigar's appearance and presentation (construction). The quality of the Habano Cuban cigar is the result of the union of four elements: soil, varieties of Cuban black tobacco, climate and the experience of the Cuban tobacco farmer and cigar makers, making these the products the finest tobacco products in the world.
