David's experience: What an absolute treat the Cubans have created here. This iconic Churchill cigar can be smoked by all levels. It is shorter than the regular Churchill, closer to the Short Churchill but with a fat 55 gauge and with an oily gloss on the wrapper that just has you liking your lips in anticipation. On tasting, it is for me slightly stronger and spicier than a traditional Romeo Y Julieta smoke and therefore more suited for an after dinner smoke as opposed to an afternoon-in-the-sun kind of smoke. Grudgingly last weekend Richard and I trotted over to the Mandarin Orinetal hotel on the banks of the River Rhone in Geneva for the first tasting and between us, felt that overtime this could go down very well with our clients. Enough intrigue in the spiciness and richness for the more comfortable smokers out there and for the beginners the caramel and vanilla fuse with the richness to make it manageable and not overpowering. One to have after a meal with a light single malt to enjoy a truly memorable smoking experience. Cheers and happy smoking! |
