"Overall this is an excellent cigar. It has a beautiful maduro wrapper with some enticing veins. The construction, draw and burn are of overall classic quality, you can tell the best rollers were used for this project. The blend is med/full and the flavors of leather and wood, the finish is definitively toasty and long, there are some earth overtones. Both the smoothness and flavor are classic Cuban. The only knock on this cigar, if there is one, is that it is deceptive. I expected a spicy taste from a maduro wrapped Monte and found none from this one. In other times the cigar would have stood out like a diamond but the sad part of it is, that it’s hardly worth the effort to purchase a specialty cigar right now when the standard efforts are so dam excellent these days, although you’ll find no disappointment from one.
The Bolivar RCs are a notch better for half the price, only because that effort is so outstanding. Cuba is making cigars to the envy of the world right now. The Monte 2’s 4s, Coh Sig 6s, Part D4s, Mag 46s, the list goes on, there are so many excellent cigars across the board right now it leaves me speechless. Cuban aficionado’s now is your time! Richard as always, the service is 4 stars."
