" Interestingly enough, as brewster noted, the ash fell at about one centimeter. Odd indeed. Enjoyable cigar. My favorite cigar is the Trinidad Double Robusto. I found the Magnum 50 to be a stronger, less refined version of the Trinidad. I think aging will serve these very well. "

" This is a gorgeous large cigar, my first Magnum 50, fresh off the delivery truck. Sorry Richard, I just can't wait to test one this evening. Handsome medium-brown wrapper, many tiny veins. Oils coat my fingers. Wrapper and foot have the leathery, earthy aromas of well-aged tobacco. The draw is generous, the pre-light taste of young wine (and lilac?). The first puff is peppery and lightly tannic, lingers for minutes on my lips and mouth. There are notes of wine and fruit over a base that is pure Upmann - rich, clean toasted tobaccos. Body is immediately medium and quickly grows a bit more full, promising to become the most powerful Upmann I've yet experienced. I'm not even past the first third yet! The short, creviced, nearly-white ash falls without warning and burns a hole in my chair - minus one-tenth point. A small snifter of Pyrat XO rum magically appears at my right hand - perfect company. After thus developing, all the flavors remain in harmonious balance to the end, never overwhelming, never growing bitter. The smoke volume was luxurious, the burn even and slow. The powerful flavors and remaining tannics speak of a bright future in the humidor. But I will be enjoying this once more soon, maybe tomorrow evening. A very rewarding cigar - I'm glad I purchased a box, as these will quickly disappear. "
