Tha_wb On 2011-10-25 " My favorite cigar of all time!!! I first smoked this cigar with my brother on a salsa trip with great friends sitting in downtown San Juan, PR. After an incredible meal. It was a great 1.5 hr smoke. I didn't know whether to smoke it or eat it. So rich, creamy, and power with finesse (couldn't stand up). My brother looks at me and asked me what was that? I told him "Cuba". Still my favorite cigar to date, and that was over 2 years ago. I'm on my 4th box. Enjoy!!! "
Roberto On 2011-06-13 " What can you say, it's a Robaina this is a Top Cigar very enjoyable. "
Papahemingway On 2011-04-05 " "A" no. 1. "
Georg On 2011-03-12 " This cigar is absolutely top notch. The smoke is deep blue, the bouquet is seducing and the taste i s amazing - complexity and restrained power at the same time "
Papahemingway On 2010-12-11 " True! This cigar goes well with wine. Hell, it goes well with everything and anything. This is the TOP of Cuban class. Don Alejandro profs better than any TOP Cuban cigar that there is an exceptional difference between all cigars all though it will take years of serious smoking before your palate will begin to understand the difference between low end cigars and high end cigars. Sit down and light it up gently and smoke it gently too. It will make you forget all troubles and all women of this planet. This is one of my TOP three favorite Cuban cigars of all time, the other two being Partagás Lusitanias and the Trinidad Robusto Extra. Alejandro Robaina, who died recently, lived a long and good life, smoking his own stuff from dawn to dust. Yes, I envy his life even though he had to live in high humidity Cuba and what not. You wanna feel how happy he always was regardless of the Cuban “situation”, then, smoke THIS! ” You are not ready to part from this world before you have experienced and understood the Don Alejandro! “. YES, I know, I just created my own “cliché! “ (smiling) … "
Anssi On 2010-09-13 " Smooooth operator! For me the best ever cigar to accompany a bottle of red wine ( fan of Pauillac, Medoc). Starts softly with the first sips of wine. When wine starts to work on your system, this cigar gets gradually stronger, just little by little, like if it knew that your taste buds are getting a little dull. If you want to mellow out, try red wine with Don Alejandro. Relaxation guaranteed. "
GF On 2009-11-18 " Although rated Medium to Full by topcubans, for me it was a very smooth and relaxing smoke. Give yourself plenty of time though, this is not the cigar to smoke during short break. Construction and draw, which are often the problem in other habanas, are very good and consistent in this one. "
Celsis On 2009-01-20 " A nice smoke but suffered wrapper problems towards the end. From a March 08 box so could probably do with some time in the humi. Will try again in a few months. "
Jeff On 2008-08-13 " A co-worker recently asked me what makes Cuban cigars so desirable. I could have answered with one word: Robaina. I smoked my first Don Alejandro yesterday with a bottle of red wine, and what an experience. This cigar feels right at home nestled between your index and middle fingers, as if it was made to be there. From the first puff to the last, the draw was exceptional, the burn even, and the taste awesome. I detected a hint of orange and a soothing, toasty flavor. A wonderful smoke. "
David On 2007-10-17 " Tasted great with decent draw. The wrapper on my examples is a very dark, almost maduro wrapper that likely contributes to its deep and ashy flavors. I was surprised by its strength (nicotine). It made me a bit lightheaded and unsteady. I guess it snuck up on me. "
Elton On 2006-12-23 " I've found a new friend, just a lovely smoke from start to finish. "
SEAN On 2006-11-09 " Great cigar, although there were some slight pull problems, the cigar still lived up to its reputation. Classic Robaina flavor, I give it an A- "
Matt On 2006-11-08 " I thought this was a great cigar. The taste was great with a glass of scotch. It was a nice reaxing smoke if you have the time. "
M3 On 2005-07-08 " Great cigar, a little long, but great flavor and draw " |
