David Beckham smokes Cohibas!

By David on March, 25th 2010 - 4:04 pm

Smoking a quality Cuban is still seen as the quintessential status indicator. They also taste pretty damn good as well! Is this revelation that David Beckham smokes cigars truly astonishing??
Beckham is never far from the limelight, but the last few weeks and months have been a busy time for him - Returning to England to play against his old team Manchester United at the famous Old Trafford ground for AC Milan in the Champions League. Alas Milan lost and then only a few days later he was diagnosed with a torn ligament in his Achilles heel and is now out of the World Cup completely. In the UK his popularity was further emphasized recently by his appearance in a charity comedy show taking the mick out of himself in a very amusing way. He's a good sport and for all the grief he gets from the glare of the media - he should be allowed to enjoy a good cigar to get away from it all.
It is I'm sure you will agree one of those great pleasures to sit back or go for a walk and forget about all of life's problems with a great stogie. It is no wonder that celebrities love 'em. People who lead busy lives want to enjoy the best of the best. A fine single malt to go with a great slow burning cigar - if you can grab a free evening on the weekend staring up at the clear night's sky with a few close friends - the ultimate in enjoying life. Cigars compliment those special social moments so well and endear you more and more to them as they become a full part of those great memories.
Only 2 months to the World Cup... any thoughts on the outcome guys??

This status & prestige thing that attends Cohiba... isn't it a bit strange? I mean... WHY? They are certainly among the best cigars in the world, no doubt, but they're far from all there is.

M. Richard, I smoked one of the three Cohiba Siglo VI Gran Reserva you sent me, and it was the best Cohiba I had ever had. Amazing richness and elegance... but I confess I shelled out the $$$ just to taste the most expensive cigar I could afford.

Beautiful... but was it the very best cigar I'd ever had? Maybe not. I still don't quite get the "prestige" thing.

Come on the US. English must remember the 1950 win at Wembley! Same again in June please!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

By Richard on March, 17th 2010 - 11:31 am

St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, is one of Christianity's most widely known figures. But for all his celebrity, his life remains somewhat of a mystery. Many of the stories traditionally associated with St. Patrick, including the famous account of his banishing all the snakes from Ireland, are false, the products of hundreds of years of exaggerated storytelling. But what a story and the resulting party 1548 years later, is a highlight on any 'bon vivants' calendar. The parade and surrounding events, the pub culture and the copious amounts of Guinness will merrily turn your 17th March into a memorable occasion. Why not treat yourself to one of the Cuban cigars currently on deal in the TopCubans.com Four Leaf Clover Deals!

The 80th Geneva International Motor Show: A successful start to a promising week!
Some 287,000 visitors have passed through the halls of Palexpo since the 80th Geneva International Motor Show was officially opened last Thursday (04th March) by Mrs. Doris Leuthard, President of the Swiss Confederation. These visitors braved some dreadful weather conditions to discover more than 100 World and European Premiers. The Show will remain open until March 14, 2010.
Following the attendance of 10,000 media representatives from all over the world, it is the general public’s turn to enjoy the celebration of premiers during the 11 public days of the 80th edition of the Geneva International Motor Show. In spite of the cold and snowy conditions outside, visitors took advantage of the weekend to enjoy an exciting presentation of the cars of today and of tomorrow.
A large number of new models, prototypes, and concept cars presented at the Motor Show showed the trend toward a future of more ecological and economical automobiles. Many specialists and luxury marques, whose presence has always been a special attraction of the Show, presented a number of streamlined concept car designs with powerful engines that also incorporate alternative energy technologies.
The GPC Motorsport team, French Champions in 2009, will bring together a number of motor sport personalities during the second week of the Motor Show. This will include the World Touring Car Champion, Yvan Muller, the Swiss racers Alain Menu, Jean-Denis Deletraz, and Olivier Gillet, plus the rally driver Patrick Henry, French Champion in 2007 and vice-champion in 2009. They will be visiting at the GPC Motorsport stand in Hall 7, which is also dedicated to exhibitions of accessories, preparation specialists, and equipment suppliers.
There is one more week to enjoy the 80th edition of the Motor Show, which runs until Sunday, March 14, 2010.
