H.アップマンについて

1844年に生産が開始されて以来、H.アップマンはマイルド−ミディアム・ボディのスムースで奥行きのある味わいを提供してきた。歴史的にも多くの人に愛されてきたこのブランドの数奇な運命は、1840年頃に銀行家でシガーの熱烈な愛好家であったヘルマン・アップマンがハバナ市に一家が経営していた銀行の支店を作ることから始まる。 1844年に彼はあるシガー工場を買収し、1922年まで銀行業と葉巻業を行っていたが、翌年事業が破綻するとイギリス系のJ.フランカウ社がこの工場を買い取りシガー事業を1935年まで継続させた。その後メレンデス・イ・ガルシア社に買収により再生されたのである。アップマンシガーはスムースで微妙な変化を楽しめるマイルド−ミディアム・ボディのシガーである。初心者に向いているが、上級者でも日中シガーとしては優れていて、世界中から愛されて止まないラージサイズ・ブランドである。

A bold new entry in the Magnum line, the Finite is Cuba’s second Edición Limitada of 2024 — and one for the collectors. This chunky Robusto Extra shows off aged Vuelta Abajo tobacco, a redesigned box with red trim, and a completely new vitola.

But fair warning: it’s not quite there yet. Straight off the shelf, it smokes young — sharp mineral notes up front, with hints of fruit and oats that start to peek through mid-way. Draw and construction? Excellent. Flavor? Promising — with time.

If you’re after something to age, this is a solid bet. If you want something to enjoy now, maybe give it a few years to settle.
