サン・ルイ・レイは、1950年にイギリスの輸入業者によって作られた。かつてフランク・シナトラやジェームス・コバーンに愛され、年間6万本しか生産されないがシガー市場では独特の存在感を保ち続けている。 黒みがかった滑らかなラッパーを持ち、フルボディで洗練された味わいとアロマを持っている、実力に対しては値段設定が低めのブランドである。赤地に金と白のラベルが美しく、ドイツ市場用に機械生産されている黒ラベルの同ブランドと区別されている。
