Maya Selva created the Flor de Selva brand in 1995 and introduced France to Honduras cigars. Ms. Selva's aim is to make new smokers' discover her cigars, where they can experience the Flor De Selva cigars which aficionados describe as being a cross between the sweetness of a Dominican cigar with the power of a Cuban cigar. Flor De Selva cigars are described as being easy to smoke and aromatic.

To celebrate the brands 20th Anniversary, Flor De Selva released the Egoista - a Short Robusto. The cigar is a Honduran Puro; a Habano wrapper from the Jamastran region, binder from Azacualpa and Olancho, and the filler is made up of Honduran tobaccos from various regions. Notes of cedar and white pepper amuse the palate during the first and second third with an intense nutty aroma and then transitions to spicy notes during the last thrid.
