TopCubans Past experience:One of the lesser known Figurados coming out of Havana, due to its rather uncontrollable nature. Presidentes is wild, rather like a rodeo horse, a Partagás gifted with unpredictable power that slaloms throughout the course of your smoke, sometimes to the detriment of the taste ! An overall flavor of earthiness is interrupted, sporadically, by vague notions of wood. However the stick is always a pleasure to the eye ! |

Beach bum On 2010-01-17 " Old Habana comes to life! I have these vintage Punch Black Prince cigars that are 20 years old. They are a treat every time I light one and I make a point of smoking them only with people who appreciate their delicacy and notes of tea and honey. When I smoke this Partagas, I imagine how those beautiful smoking vintage punches must have been in their youth. A great cigar that should be very age worthy and mellow into an aromatic blockbuster. "

This is one is something else, not out of this world incredible but unusual. Strong but not throat wrecking like some new comers in the 50+ ring; very earthy and in my experience very even. I may have been lucky with that box, as many comments relate to its inconsistency, but compare to many torpedos and figurados I never had to to re lite them. Enjoy, worth trying a box. "
Celsis On 2009-05-15 " Wasn't overly impressed. Woody, and quite strong, but lacking any sort of refinement. "
LenC On 2004-08-31 " When they are good they are fantastic, when they are bad they are a pain in the butt. Out of a box of 25 you will get 3 -5 that are plugged, and the only solution is to either keep cutting it back or sticking a poker through to get a drawer. When they are not plugged, they are one of the richest cigars I have ever smoked ... and really elegant. All in all it is worth the effort though. This, "bye the way", was the favorite of JFK. "
Daddyherc On 2004-05-20 " Easily my least favorite Cuban cigar of all time. Dry (in flavor, not in humidity) and lacking in almost every way. Hard to keep lit and an overall downer. This is funny to me considering how much I love all of the other Partagas offerings I have had, especially the 898 Varnished, Serie D. #4 and Seleccion Privada #1. "
Andy k On 2002-02-28 " you need to clip this cigar far enough on both ends to get its full flavor and good draw. it is a rich full to medium bodied smoke but short on the finish and not very complex as the patagas
Pateo721 On 2002-01-22 " Well made, enjoyable cigar. This is what you expect out of a Cuban. Full of taste, but very smooth. " |
