Des Dieux has a bready, chocolatey, sweet-subtle tea flavour in the prelight aroma. Ideally maduro, the Des Dieux has a seductive allure that entices the eye and readies the taste buds for a journey into the balanced smoke. I find this a rich multi layered smoke packed full of floral and precious wood flavours. A light peppermint aroma drives the bunches bouquet to the nub. Des Dieux is cosy, classic and exotic, the kind of cigar I take to my village bonfire for the Swiss national celebrations on the 1st of August. The flames flicker and crackle, the relaxed laughter of happy people around the bonfire rings out and the Des Dieux's succulent smoke mingles with the contented atmosphere.
